Homicide suspect arrested in St. Marys

On July 14, at approximately 7:44 a.m., officers from the St. Marys Police Department were dispatched to the Cumberland Oaks apartment complex in St. Marys in response to a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found Demond Malik Marsh, 27, of St. Marys, on the ground with a gunshot wound. The victim was evacuated to UF Health Shands in Jacksonville where she died just after 2:00 p.m.


The investigation revealed that Emanuel Arthur Johnson, 24, of St. Marys, was the suspect. Mr Johnson was found around two hours later and taken into custody by officers from the St. Marys Police Department and deputies from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

Mr Johnson has been charged with murder and aggravated assault and remains incarcerated at Camden County Jail in Woodbine, Georgia.
