Da Brat and his wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart are proud new moms to a baby boy. PEOPLE can exclusively report that the rapper gave birth to her son in Atlanta at 8:30 p.m. ET on July 6, weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces and 20 inches tall.
“I can’t BELIEVE it came out of me!” the star tells PEOPLE. “Looks like a dream. He’s PERFECT in every way.” As for how mom feels: “Very grateful for such a blessing from our bundle of joy,” she says. “This trip has been more amazing than we could have ever imagined.”
Regarding the little one’s name, Harris-Dupart says, “His name was True Legend Harris-Dupart but now that we’ve met him, we’re tempted to call him PERFECT.” That said, the couple remains loyal to True.

It’s a life-changing moment that the “Funkdafied” rapper, 49, has been waiting for. Shortly after tying the knot with the CEO of Kaleidoscope Haircare, 41, on 2/22/22, the Chicago native “started looking at life so differently.”
Da Brat told PEOPLE she wanted “a little me” with Harris-Dupart. “Something special from both of us that we can share, nurture and love unconditionally,” she said.

But 48 at the time, the star admitted she was apprehensive about pregnancy and giving birth. “I was like, nothing’s gonna come out of me!” Harris-Dupart, who is already a mother of three, convinced her otherwise. “We had a little tussle at first…but I felt like she had to experience it,” Da Brat’s wife said. “She’s so nourishing.”

Da Brat and his wife, who perform on WeTV Brat likes Judy, used IVF to conceive with a Harris-Dupart egg and sperm from an anonymous donor. The happy news they’ve been waiting for came after a heartbreaking miscarriage for the star.

“I’ve never been so excited about something I didn’t even know I wanted,” Da Brat said. “I fell in love with the idea and then it was all ripped from me. Luckily we still had quite a few eggs left.”
As the birth neared, the couple spared no expense in celebrating their baby along the way. In March, the two threw a colorful gender reveal party where they both wore hot pink and blue ensembles.

At the time of the big reveal, the couple and their guests watched a large screen that displayed a countdown. When the countdown ended, the screen lit up to read “It’s a boy!” as blue confetti burst around the event.
Most recently, the couple celebrated with a blue and yellow Minions-themed baby shower complete with flower arrangements, balloon arches, a tiered cake and signs that read “Our Lil Minion.”
“Yesterday was our #MINION themed baby shower 💛💙💛 SO MUCH LOVE IN THE BUILDING 💙💛💙 it was so much fun with friends and family 💙💛,” the couple posted on social media. social. “We love all of you who celebrated with us.”
