Ariana Grande is dating mean co-star Ethan Slater after Dalton Gomez split

Ethan Slater, Ariana Grande is so in you.

The “Save Your Tears” singer recently started dating her Bad co-star after splitting from her husband Dalton Gomez, a source familiar with the situation told E! News.

According to the insider, Ariana and Dalton “remain friends,” while Tony Award-nominated Ethan for Spongebob Squarepants: The Broadway Musical— separated from his wife four years ago, Lilly Jaywith whom he shares a son.

While Ariana, 30, and Ethan, 31, have yet to publicly announce the status of their relationship, E! News confirmed on July 17 that she and Dalton were heading for divorce after two years of marriage. The duo tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Nickelodeon alum’s Southern California residence in May 2021.

And although Ariana was recently spotted without her wedding ring, she shared a tribute to Dalton in honor of their anniversary in May, writing alongside a photo from their ceremony, “I love him so much.”

Over the past year, Ariana and Ethan have been hard at work in London filming the Bad movie adaptation.

In recent days, the cast and crew halted filming amid the SAG-AFTRA strike, with the director Jon M Chu as well as Ariana (who will play Glinda) and Ethan (he plays Boq) taking to social media to support their community.

“Not done yet. Just a break until the strike is over and we can finish the last bits of the movie”, Jon tweeted and posted on Instagram Story on July 20, which Ariana and Ethan re-shared. “We were only days away from the end, so we were so close.”

“It was very painful to stop everything but we will come back!” He continued. “And we’ll finish strong when the time is right. My heart goes out to our cast and crew who were cut short by what we came here to complete together. More to come, but in the meantime I’m excited to dig into what we shot last year here in Oz (release date shouldn’t be affected). It’s been an amazing adventure…more to do.”

In April, Ariana shared that she was “halfway through” filming and called the experience life-changing.

“savoring every millisecond left with my Galinda (even though she will be with me irrevocably, forever),” Ariana wrote on Instagram on April 3. “She shows me so many new things every day.”

The Universal film is split into two films, with Villain: part one scheduled for release in November 2024 and Villain: part two premiered a year later.
