Follow Tommy Fleetwood, Max Homa, Brooks Koepka and more on Friday at Royal Liverpool

Let’s resume.

The British Open resumes Friday morning from the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, and England’s Tommy Fleetwood holds a 5-under par lead. Fleetwood is yet to win on the PGA Tour and this week entered No. 21 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Although he failed to pick up a win, he has twice top-five finishes in his last four British Open starts and is coming off a T5 run at the US Open last month. He had just one bogey on Thursday and finished with three birdies in his last five holes.

Fleetwood shares the lead with Emiliano Grillo and Christo Lamprecht, the 6ft 8in amateur from South Africa. Lamprecht, a rising senior at Georgia Tech, won the amateur championship to earn his place in the field.

There are plenty of other big names within reach going into day two of play. US Open winner Wyndham Clark is just two shots away, as are Max Homa and Stewart Cink, and Jordan Spieth three shots under 2. Brooks Koepka finished 1 under, and Rory McIlroy – who won the event last time he was at Royal Liverpool – posted an even par 71.

Can Koepka or McIlroy race before halfway? Will Tommy Fleetwood be able to extend his lead before Moving Day? Follow all the action from Friday at the British Open here with Yahoo Sports:
