19-year-old man unleashes multiple punches outside Queens Mall then shot dead by rival

A 19-year-old gunman fired multiple shots outside a Queens mall early on Sunday – only to be shot dead by a rival moments later, police sources said.

The victim exited a building on Metropolitan Ave. near 79th Pl. in Middle Village and began firing in the air around 3:25 a.m., sources said. The building houses a doctor’s office and other businesses.

Someone down the block shot him, hitting him in the chest, sources said. Doctors took him to Elmhurst Hospital but he could not be saved.

Shortly after, a 21-year-old man showed up at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn with a gunshot wound to his arm. Cops determined he was shot in the same incident, though it was not immediately clear if he fired the fatal bullet.

No arrests were made.

The 19-year-old victim, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested on February 17 for possession of a ghost weapon when cops stopped him in a vehicle and he attempted to flee, sources said.
