Yankees, Orioles enter rain delay as Wednesday’s game doesn’t start on time

Wednesday’s game between the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles is in a rain delay and not starting on time.

New York initially didn’t include a new start time for the 7:05 p.m. matchup, the team would announce the first pitch is scheduled for 8:40 p.m.

Yankees LHP Nestor Cortes (4-2, 5.21 ERA) and Orioles RHP Tyler Wells (3-1, 2.94 ERA) are Wednesday’s starting pitchers.

The AL East foes return to action at Yankee Stadium after New York took Tuesday’s 10-inning battle, 6-5.

The Yankees (30-20) are two games behind Baltimore (31-17) for second in the division.

The Tampa Bay Rays entered Wednesday’s slate at 35-15 and in the AL East driver’s seat.

New York has won five straight games, including 12 of its past 15.
