Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detectives said a woman was repeatedly shot and thrown from a vehicle on the side of a highway on Friday and they are looking for someone connected to the crime.

A passerby saw it happening around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 321 near exit 28 and called 911.
An ambulance transported the victim to the hospital.
Officers said they were looking for a person of interest, Randall Lane Shropshire, 53, of Lincolnton, who may be in a white passenger car.
Detectives have closed part of Route 321 while the investigation is underway.
