Stripper with fake gun arrested in Germany

German police mistakenly arrested a stripper carrying a fake but “realistic” weapon, authorities said on Monday.

The unidentified 31-year-old man stood on a main road in Frankfurt on Friday evening, dressed as an American cop and carrying a toy gun that appeared to be a rifle, according to German broadcaster DW.

Several people called the real police in Germany and reported the man for apparently loitering while heavily armed.

The cops reportedly responded with overwhelming force and quickly grabbed the gun, tackled the man and handcuffed him. They called it a “dangerous situation with an apparent weapon.”

After a brief interaction, officers learned that the man had been hired for a bachelor party but “underestimated the martial effect of his own attire”.

The man was released without being charged, DW reported. Police did not say whether he had been strip searched.
