Two people were injured early Friday when an unknown suspect fired at their vehicle, hitting the driver and causing them to lose control and crash, Fort Worth police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 8100 block of Interstate 30 shortly after 4 a.m. regarding a shooting call. An unknown person shot into a vehicle traveling on the freeway, police said. The bullet struck the driver on the hand.

The victim and a passenger received non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The shooter is still at large, according to police.

The Gang Unit will investigate the incident, officials said.
