Shooting at mall in Roseville leaves one dead, suspect in custody

One person was killed and another person was arrested following a shooting in a parking garage at the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville.

Roseville police spokesman Lt. Chris Ciampa said officers were called to the mall’s five-story garage at 10:38 a.m. for a shooting and found a person wounded who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ciampa said a suspect officers identified as the shooter was arrested at the scene and the weapon used was recovered. Officers said the two individuals involved were known to one another and that there was no threat to the mall’s patrons and workers.

Police remain on scene processing evidence, Ciampa said, and that additional details would be provided later.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Placer County Coroner’s Office.
