Senator Lindsey Graham responds if he is in a Donald Trump ‘cult’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (RS.C.) insisted in an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters on Tuesday that he was not in a cult that worships former President Donald Trump.

Watters released footage of Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state and Trump’s Democratic rival in 2016, describing the GOP as “more of a cult than a political party at this point” because they remain loyal to Trump , who was arraigned Tuesday on charges related to the mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House.

“Are you in a cult, Senator?” Watters asked Graham.

Graham initially pivoted to attack Clinton, saying, “I’m an American who believes that if you believe Hillary Clinton should be prosecuted, you should probably believe Trump should be prosecuted. If you think she should get a pass, Trump should get a pass.

That’s despite the fact that Clinton was never indicted for her use of a private email server when she was secretary of state, and the differences between Trump’s case and hers.

“No, I’m not in a cult,” Graham continued.

“You know, I attacked the president when I think he’s wrong, but what they’re doing to President Trump is a game-changer for the presidency,” he said, appearing to refer to his condemnation of Trump’s short duration after the Jan. 6 uprising.

“They took the law and turned it upside down many times to get it,” Graham added.
