A Seattle Police officer was hurt when he was hit by his private car as it was being stolen outside an Edmonds apartment complex.
Shortly after 5:30 a.m. Monday, an off-duty officer discovered his Hyundai Santa Fe was being broken into outside the apartments near the 9500 block of Edmonds Way.
The officer said as the suspects tried to get away in his car, they drove at him. He was hit and knocked to the ground.
The officer fired one shot at the suspects as they fled in his Hyundai. The bullet hit a fence.
The officer has minor injuries. His car was later found in Burien.
No one has been arrested. Edmonds Police are searching for the suspect.
Police are investigating whether the officer used his own gun or one that is owned by the Seattle Police Department.
