Sarah Jessica Parker ‘stayed away’ from Matthew Broderick at first but has ‘never slept a night apart’ in 31 years since

During an appearance on SiriusXM The Howard Stern Show58 year old man sex and the city alum opened up about how she met husband Matthew Broderick and why she hasn’t been able to part ways with him since.

“We were both seeing other people, so it was illegal, and we stayed away from each other,” she said, explaining the circumstances under which they met. “We understood that we had to do good for others and officially break up.”

Parker recalled, “We had our first official date on March 8, 1992, and we’ve been together ever since.”

The actress added that the couple were inseparable and had “never spent a night apart since, except for work on site, or his mother was a little sick so he went to take care of her, but from that first night, we were never separated.

Parker spoke about the qualities that most attracted her to Broderick, 61, as well as his unique quirks like riding a messenger bike with no brakes and hanging onto buses.

“I loved his person a lot. He’s so smart, he’s so funny, I love that choice of friends, the way he lived in New York, what was important to him, the way he traveled around the town,” she said. “Really smart and really talented and he was, I thought, so handsome and handsome and lovely.

“I love being home in New York,” Parker said. “I wanted to build a life here and he was born and raised in the West Village, literally – he never lived north of 11th Street.”

The couple dated for five years before finally getting married in May 1997. Since then, the couple have welcomed three children, son James Wilkie, 20, and twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell, 13.
