June 3 – A Santa Fe man is facing a slew of charges after being accused of causing a fatal Friday night rollover accident on northbound Interstate 25 that claimed the life of a 66-year-old man from Santa Fe.
Jonathan Matthew Lujan, 22, is charged with one count of homicide by impaired vehicle; two counts of grievous bodily harm per vehicle while driving under the influence; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; dangerous driving; a number of conducts related to impaired driving while the license was revoked; not having insurance; and possession of an open container, according to online court records.
New Mexico State Police officers responded to the fatal crash just north of Paseo Del Norte Boulevard in north Albuquerque around 10 p.m. and found Lujan kneeling near his white 2023 Jeep SUV se plaintiff of injuries to his entire body, according to a criminal complaint filed Saturday in Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court. He had rammed a 2003 Toyota pickup truck, according to a state police news release Saturday.
