Ross customers run for cover after shots ring out in parking lot, injures man, witness says

Customers at a Ross Dress for Less experienced frightening moments when they found themselves caught in the middle of gunfire.

Shots rang out in the parking lot outside the retail store off N. Decatur Road around closing time.

Customers told WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. that they had to dodge several bullets by crawling on the floor.

“All I saw was black, and I saw the bullets flying. I didn’t know it sparks like that. I have never been that close to bullets before,” said Franchesca Casiano.

Casiano told Channel 2 that she and the other customers hid in the bathroom when a man came inside begging for help.

“One of the guys ran int he store into the bathroom where we were hiding and was bleeding out in there,” she said.

Before police showed up, the customers tried to help the injured man.

“We helped put pressure on his wound…back of the store,” Casiano said.

Channel 2 Action News reached out to police for details but they have not said what led up to the shooting or the victim’s condition. Channel 2 Action News has also reached out to Ross to learn when the store is expected to reopen.
