Qatar takeover could pave way for Man Utd to sign Kylian Mbappe

Manchester United appear to be in contention for their biggest transfer since Paul Pogba in 2016. Fellow Frenchman Kylian Mbappe has been rumored at the Red Devils, according to Spanish outlet El Pais.

Mbappe, 24, looks set to leave the United Nations League for the first time, with Manchester United and the English Premier League emerging as the best option. With recent news that Mbappe will not be stepping down with PSG beyond the 2023-24 season, Qatari-owned PSG are determined not to let the hyper-valuable Mbappe go free the following summer.

PSG owner Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani is said to be very interested in selling Mbappe to United provided his compatriot Sheikh Jassim completes the purchase of the Manchester club. Jassim appears to be in a two-headed race for ownership with UK CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe still in the running for ownership.

Although no official news has been released by the club, many believe Jassim will complete the takeover, creating a clear path for Mbappe to join Manchester United.

After a successful debut campaign under Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, which included the club’s first trophy since the 2016-17 Europa League, Mbappe would seek to lift the club higher up the Premier League table and deeper into the league. Champions League.

PSG have preliminary talks with representatives of Harry Kane

Paris Saint-Germain have opened preliminary talks with Tottenham’s Harry Kane. That’s what the mirror reports:

The 29-year-old’s entourage met with PSG transfer chief Luis Campos last month… to have a casual chat about his future. There is a strong relationship between PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi and his Spurs counterpart [Daniel] Sampling. The two met in London earlier this year to discuss a potential investment in the North London club, but both are respectful of each other’s positions.

Kylian Mbappe’s potential availability could limit Kane’s options this summer, with Manchester United or Real Madrid – likely to prioritize Mbappe over the England captain.

That would boost Spurs’ chances of keeping him for Ange Postecoglou’s first year in charge, but the real challenge then would be convincing Kane to extend his contract beyond its end next summer.

Liverpool want midfield reinforcements

After signing Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool are keen to bring in at least two more top players, with Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram and Inter’s Nicolo Barella top of the list, according to the mirror.

Barella, who played for Inter Milan in their Champions League final loss to Manchester City, has developed a huge reputation both in Serie A and internationally with Italy. The 26-year-old came through the Cagliari academy before his transfer to Inter and has totaled 43 caps for his country.

His full box-to-box game would complement Alexis Mac Allister, while Thuram is another midfielder with a rounded game who, like Barella, can carry the ball down the center of the pitch.
