Pregnant Naomi Osaka reveals the gender of her first baby

Game, set, match! Ace of tennis Naomi Osaka revealed that she was expecting a baby girl.

Naomi, 25, took to Instagram with the big reveal, sharing photos from her baby shower. The athlete is seen standing amid a flurry of pastel pink and purple flowers and balloons and resting her arm on a giant pink mushroom, while a sign behind her reads: ‘A little princess is on her way!’ She captioned the photo set with a smiley face and two pastel hearts.

In a frank conversation on February 21 with PeopleNaomi said she knew the gender of the baby in advance but did not reveal it to her rapper boyfriend, Cordae25 years. “I’m getting ready, but he doesn’t know the gender yet, I’m the only one who does,” she revealed, adding, “So it’s not like I can build the room or whatever. it would be.”

She continued, “I’m just getting by. It’s kind of the key motto in my life.”

The four-time Grand Slam singles champion announced her pregnancy in January, shortly after withdrawal from the 2023 Australian Open. At the time, Naomi shared an intimate ultrasound image, expressing her renewed love for the sport during her break.

“The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find it’s the hardest times in life that can be the most fun,” she wrote. “These few months away from the sport have really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to.”

“I realize that life is so short and I don’t take any moment for granted, every day is a new blessing and a new adventure,” Naomi continued. “I know I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is my child watching one of my games and saying to someone, ‘it’s my mum’ , haha.”

With motherhood fast approaching, however, Naomi plans to return to court as early as next year.

“I’ll see you at the start of the next one because I’ll be at Aus 2024,” she shared. “I love you all infinitely.”
