Paterson PD, prosecutor investigating shooting that leaves one dead, two others injured

PATERSON − Police and county prosecutor investigators are investigating the apparent shooting death of a 22-year-old man early Sunday morning in the area of River and East 13th streets.

In addition to the one fatality, officials said there also was a 24-year-old man and 33-year-old man taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for gunshot wounds. It appears those two men were brought to the hospital by private vehicle.

In a midday news release, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Officer-in-Charge Isa Abbassi, said the investigation “is active and ongoing” and more information will be released when it becomes available.
