July 23 – An Odessa man who was arrested in June for allegedly sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl is now charged with sexually assaulting her 5-year-old sister.
According to a report from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, Weldon William Needham, 39, was arrested after the eldest daughter told a forensic investigator he touched her under her clothes “numerous times” and a sexual assault nurse examiner found physical evidence to support her story.
Needham was arrested on suspicion of aggravated child molestation and was released from Ector County Jail after posting $100,000 bond.
On July 13, the 5-year-old’s mother turned herself in to authorities after the little girl said Needham touched her ‘darling’ and digitally penetrated her.
A sexual assault nurse examiner found physical evidence to support the child’s story on July 17, according to the report.
Needham was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of a second count of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was released on Friday after posting $100,000 bond.
