At approximately 12:51 p.m., Boulder police announced the crash via Twitter.
A 75-year-old woman driver was cited for careless driving, according to Dionne Waugh, a spokesperson for the Boulder police.
The woman told officers the crash was caused by a mechanical issue, though an initial investigation by police indicated the driver mistook the gas for the brake when parking and crashed into the building.
