Restricted free agent forward Miles Bridges is expected to sign a $7.9 million qualifying offer to stay with the Charlotte Hornets, Reporting by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The two sides remain apart on a long-term extension, according to the report. The move would keep Bridges in Charlotte for the upcoming season and allow him to enter the upcoming offseason as an unrestricted free agent.

Bridges will start the season serving the final 10 games of a 30-game NBA suspension after being arrested for domestic violence last offseason. Bridges first pleaded not guilty to several charges at arraignment and later pleaded uncontested to a charge of domestic violence against a spouse or other cohabitant in a plea deal with prosecutors.
