Mauricio Umansky has shared a look at his physical transformation 10 days after he and Kyle Richards broke news after 27 years of marriage.
âI was planning on posting this for my birthday, but I was in Aspen and it got a lot of noise,â the 53-year-old real estate broker wrote in the caption to a series of Instagram photos showing his weight loss journey.

Umansky began the post with two photos of himself standing in front of a mirror at a gym. He followed the selfies with a shirtless throwback photo.
“6 years ago I was fat and out of shape, the plan is to get better every year,” Umansky continued in the caption. “I need to post this to keep going and everyone knows you don’t post unless you just worked out and you’re all pumped up lol.”
While the business owner received praise in the comments section, Richards, 54, also saw her transformation and left a comment. THE The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star wrote, “Must be ozempic ððĪĢ.” Umansky responded to Richards, writing, “ððð must be.”
Richards was referring to Ozempic, an FDA-approved drug for people with type 2 diabetes. However, it has become popular among celebrities for weight loss. Some doctors have expressed frustration with the trend.
“The Hollywood trend is concerning,” Dr. Caroline Apovian, co-director of the Center for Weight Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, told PEOPLE. “We’re not talking about stars who need to lose 10 pounds. We’re talking about people who are dying of obesity, who are going to die of obesity.”
“You’re removing patients with diabetes,” Apovian continued. “We have life-saving drugs…and the American public who really needs those drugs can’t get them.”

Richards was accused of using Ozempic herself, but denied using the drug in a January Instagram comment. In an interview with Extra TV in February, Richards called the allegations “frustrating” because she works “really hard” for her body.
“I can’t stand people saying that because people who know me know I get up every day at 5:30 a.m. no later than 6 a.m.âĶI’m in the gym for two hours,” he said. she stated. “I really put a lot of effort into my diet, my exercise and taking care of myself, so when people like to think I took the easy way out, it’s frustrating.”
Richards and Umansky announced their separation in a joint statement on Instagram hours after sources told PEOPLE they had been separated for some time but continued to live together amicably.

“Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but still live under the same roof,” the source said on July 3. “They remain friendly as they find out what lies ahead for them and their family.”
“Regarding the news that was released about us today…Any claims regarding the divorce are false,” the statement read in part. “However, yes, we’ve had a tough year. The toughest in our marriage. But we love and respect each other tremendously.”
