Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey Make Love For Four Decades in a Showtime Limited Series – Watch the First Trailer

To kick off Pride Month appropriately, Showtime on Thursday unveiled the first images of its upcoming love story from the Matt Bomer-Jonathan Bailey period. Travel Companions.

The trailer – which was first glimpsed on EW.com (and can be seen above) – offers flashes of the decades-spanning romance between Bailey’s earnest and upbeat Tim Laughlin , and the charismatic, intimacy-avoiding Bomer “Hawk” Fuller.

Based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, and adapted by Homeland / Ray Donovan Vet Ron Nyswaner, the eight-episode drama traces the couple’s 35-year relationship, from when they first met in the McCarthy-era 1950s to the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s.

By vanity loungethe sex scenes in Travel Companions between White collar alum Bomer and Bridgerton star Bailey will mark “uncharted territory for mainstream television”.

“Not that it’s going to be shocking to people, but I hope when people watch it, they’re like, ‘Oh, wow. They really went there,'” executive producer Robbie Rogers told the magazine. Bailey added, “I’ll be so interested to see how people react to it. For me, being queer is also, as men, how to negotiate giving your body to another. It’s something that I have always aspired to see done well because I know how amazing it is to experience it.

Travel Companions is slated to premiere this fall on Showtime.
