In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August of that year, Moore – who played matriarch Rebecca Pearson – opened up about how “intimidating” it had been to leave the NBC series after six seasons.
“Obviously, nothing will ever hold the same place in my heart as [This Is Us]“, she said at the time. “And, quite frankly, nothing is likely to mean the same to the world the way this work did.”
“I love working and feel incredibly lucky to have had the best job in the world for the past six years,” she continued. “I think every creative person is definitely scared of not working and feels like their last job is their last job. I’ve read stuff and thought about what’s next, but it’s daunting.”
