Man shot, killed in Richmond, IN; Suspects still at large

A man was killed after a shooting in Richmond, Indiana on Thursday morning.

Richmond police were dispatched to 130 North 34th Street around 8:10 a.m. following reports of people shooting firearms, a department spokesperson said.

Officers were informed that two men dressed in black and wearing masks were firing their weapons. They were also informed that a body was “down”, or lying on the ground, in the parking lot.

The suspects reportedly left the area in an unknown direction driving a black or dark blue four-door car with chrome wheels.

When officers arrived they found 32-year-old Robert Anthony Hill of Richmond with multiple gunshot wounds. Hill succumbed to his life-threatening injuries at the scene and was pronounced dead by Richmond Fire Department medics.

No other injuries were reported.

Officers also located bullet holes in several buildings and a vehicle.

Investigators have spoken to witnesses to gather more information about the ongoing investigation. The Richmond Police Department was assisted by doctors and drone from the Richmond Fire Department, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
