A 40-year-old man was arrested Friday at the White Settlement police station on suspicion of smoking illegal drugs inside the location’s public bathroom, officials said.

On Friday morning a man entered the lobby of the police station, located at 8900 Clifford St., and went into the public restroom. When he didn’t come out, officers went in to check on his welfare and found the man with a glass pipe, White Settlement police said in a social media post.

It appeared the man was smoking methamphetamine, an illegal drug, inside the public restroom, police said. Officers confiscated the drug paraphernalia and arrested the suspect. He was booked into jail shortly after 10 a.m.

“To our knowledge, this is the first time anyone has ever walked into the police station to engage in illicit drug use,” officials said in the post.
