Lexington KY police arrest second suspect in murder case

Lexington police have arrested a second suspect in connection to a July homicide.

Justin Brown, 26, was arrested Wednesday. He faces charges of murder, first-degree burglary and first-degree wanton endangerment, according to court records. Courtney Wrenn, 33, was previously arrested in July and also faces murder, burglary and wanton endangerment charges along with a charge of possessing a gun as a felon.

The shooting happened July 13 in the 300 block of Michigan Avenue, according to police. Stacey Marshall, 31, was shot and later died at a hospital.

The shooting was the 12th homicide in Lexington this year. There have been 14 total homicides in 2023.

Both men were being held at the Fayette County Detention Center Thursday, according to jail records.

Brown is expected to make his first court appearance Monday afternoon. Wrenn is due back in court Aug. 31.
