LeBron James ‘shocks’ the world by coming back, where should you draft him in fantasy basketball?

Following the Lakers loss in the Western Conference Finals in late May, james lebron left some doubt about his future plans, saying, “I have a lot to think about, to be honest, and just for me personally, I’m going forward in basketball, I have a lot to think about. .” Since then, fans have wondered if James’ cryptic response hinted at him seriously considering retirement.

But for anyone who thought James was hanging up on him, fear not. I know, surprising, right? !

Last night on ESPYs 2023, James took home the best all-time record performance – an award in honor of breaking the NBA and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time record earlier this season. During his acceptance speech, James addressed his self-induced controversy over when it will be time to retire, saying: “The day I can’t play without giving my all on the floor is the day I’m done. Lucky for you guys, that day isn’t today.”

Corny, of course, but it’s LeBron.

But also, why would be be it done? It’s not like he’s Viserys Targaryen – one of those faded elders who can’t hack him anymore.

Jacques was at least a top 35 fantasy player in every season except his rookie year – where he was 47th. That’s pretty GOAT-ish. But I have questions about his health.

Thankfully, general manager Rob Pelinka has done a terrific job of rebuilding Lakers depth this offseason, re-signing Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell And Rui Hachimura. And bring in free agents like Gabe Vincent, Jaxson Hayes, Taurus Prince And Reddish cam only deepens this bench. It is the kind of depth that will help James through the season.

And while James has been the model of consistency and longevity in any sport, it’s worth mentioning that he’s only played in 67% of regular season games over the past three seasons.

The man is 38 years old, almost 39 years old. Durability is the Lakers’ most critical element if they intend to compete for another championship.

As such, I put James a few spots off last year’s 23rd in the nine-cat H2H formats and have him listed as 28th overall in my initial rankings, which should drop very soon.
