Kathy Hilton confirms quitting ‘RHOBH’ after 2 seasons

After Hilton officially joined as a friend of the franchise in season 11 in 2021, she had her ups and downs with her sister Kyle Richards, as well as co-stars Lisa Rinna and Erika Girardi.

Kathy Hilton will not be seen on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills next season.

A source confirms to PEOPLE that Hilton did not film for season 13, following Hilton’s own revelation that she had been more involved in season 2 of her daughter Paris Hilton’s reality show Peacock.

When asked if she would return for the upcoming 13th season of RHOBH, the 64-year-old told E! News, “No, I do Paris in love.”

She added from Housewives: “But I know it’s going to be great. It’s always interesting and fun and full of drama.”

The news of his departure comes after his sister and former costar Kyle Richards revealed last week that his relationship with Hilton was still strained after the RHOBH season 12 reunion, airing in October.

“Things obviously aren’t going well – I think most people know that,” said the halloween kills the star told E! News. “But we are family, we are blood. We will always come back together.”

The couple reunited at their niece Whitney Davis’ bridal shower a few weeks ago and will be attending her upcoming wedding.

“It’s my niece’s special day and she’s getting married, and we’re all going to be there together,” the reality star shared. “We will, of course, be civil and kind and hopefully one day be back to normal.”

Hilton joined the series in 2021 for season 11, appearing as a “friend of” the franchise alongside her sister Kyle, 54, a full-time diamond holder. The couple’s sister, Kim Richards, previously left the show in 2015 after five seasons.

Hilton quickly became a fan favorite during her first season on the show. Some of her most iconic and viral moments include her asking, “Who is Hunky Dory?” as well as his hilarious inability to properly play two truths and a lie.

But the fun and games came to a screeching halt in its second season when it was accused of having an off-screen meltdown during a casting trip to Aspen. At the time, Hilton allegedly misbehaved in a club with the band – and even used the F-slur.

Hilton was also accused of making horrible comments about all of her partners, including Kyle.

The only cast member to witness the entire breakdown was Lisa Rinna, who announced her departure from the show in January. In a previous episode, Rinna said she was so “shaken” by Hilton’s behavior that when she returned to the cast’s vacation home, she quickly retreated to her room and locked herself in to sleep. away from her Hilton.

Although Kyle chose to forgive and forget what Hilton would have done, Rinna wasn’t backing down.

“I’m sorry, Kathy, you’re not going to get away with me,” Rinna said in a previous episode. “You can have your tears. You can do what you’re going to do but you did what you did and you’re not just going to gas me and manipulate me now.”

In the season 12 finale, Rinna and her costar Erika Girardi were accused of leaking information about Hilton’s meltdown to the press. But Kyle revealed to the group that Girardi’s publicist was allegedly behind the case.

Hilton later said she would not return to the show unless Rinna, 59, and Girardi, 51, were removed from the cast.

“I said I would only be willing to come back if the cast [was different]. If it was completely the same, absolutely not,” she said in a video posted by TMZ. “I feel like there are two bullies who bully a lot of other girls. A couple are talking but most of them aren’t the most authentic selves when pushed against the wall and they’re scared of what these two bullies [might do] because they are capable of anything, Erika and Lisa.”

Hilton also accused Rinna and Girardi of being “desperate for a storyline.”

“They will throw anyone under the bus,” she added. “I said a few weeks ago, ‘You look. They’re all going to start turning on each other.'”

Rinna announced her own exit from the series in January.
