Johnstown man faces felony homicide tally in Somerset County shooting | News

CAIRNBROOK, Pa. — A Johnstown man faces a criminal homicide charge following a shooting in Shade Township on Friday.

Gregory John Mostoller was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police following an investigation into the death of Clifton Earl Johnson, of Hooversville. Mostoller was denied bail by Magistrate District Judge Susan Mankamyer and was held in the Somerset County Jail.

“While the circumstances surrounding the shooting are under active investigation by PSP, I am grateful for PSP’s prompt response and investigation and overall dedication to the citizens of Somerset County” , Somerset County Acting District Attorney Molly Metzgar wrote in an email. “My deepest condolences go out to the Johnson family.”

Mostoller is scheduled to hold a preliminary hearing before Magistrate District Judge William Seger on June 14.
