THE Easter Sunday The 52-year-old actor reflected on his feelings for his ex – whom he split from in July 2022 – and said there was still no hard feelings between the two.
“She’s a beautiful person and, you know, we’re still friends,” Koy said. Page 6 at the opening of Here lies love on Broadway.
He went on to describe their 11-month relationship as “a beautiful moment” and congratulated the star, who just wrapped up his comedy tour across the US last month.

“She’s doing some great things right now,” he added. “She’s crushing it right now, so I have nothing but the best love for her.”
Handler, 48, shared on Instagram in July 2022 that she and Koy had split, posting a video they intended to share on their first anniversary. She wrote alongside the clip, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship at this time.”

She shared more about the split in an episode of Brooke Shields Now what? podcast in December, saying she initially thought Koy was the one.
“I really thought he was my guy,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I won. Like, I have everything. I have my career, I have respect, I have my family, I have so many friends, I have all those things.’ And then I thought that would be the person I would spend my life with.”
Handler admitted she was open to the idea of marriage as it was something important to Koy, but noted that towards the end of the relationship, “it became clear that it wasn’t my person.”

“There were certain behaviors that we couldn’t agree on,” she explained. “I felt like I had to give up on myself, which I might have been okay with if I was 20 or 25, but I wasn’t willing to do that. No matter how much I loved this person – and I loved him so much – I wasn’t going to give up on myself.”
“I’m not going to change the way I behave to make you feel more comfortable. I don’t do that, and I had to walk away from something that I really believed was going to be an forever relationship,” Handler continued. “So it was difficult.”
