Jesse Watters’ mother phoned his Fox News debut at 8 p.m. with very blunt advice

On Monday, Fox News’ Jesse Watters received stern on-air advice – and a warning not to lose his job – from his own mother as he officially resumed the conservative network’s 8 p.m. slot previously occupied by Tucker Carlson .

“Don’t fall into conspiratorial rabbit holes. We don’t want to lose you and we don’t want a lawsuit,” said Anne Watters, a Democrat who has publicly called out her son for showing “contempt for diversity” and making controversial “radical statements” before, during ‘a phonecall.

“In accordance with the Hippocratic oath, do no harm,” continued Anne Watters. “We need you to be kind and respectful.”

She also encouraged the personality – who has a history of making racist, sexist and transphobic comments – to use her voice “responsibly to promote a conversation that maintains a narrative thread”.

There had been enough “bashing” against President Joe Biden, she said. “Seeking a solution rather than fanning the flames,” added Anne Watters, before making this mocking suggestion involving former President Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the 2024 GOP race:

“You could encourage your friend from Bedminster to return to his previous television career. Everyone in his audience could wear a red hat and I’m sure the ratings would skyrocket, but never as high, honey, as yours on “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
