How committed his job is Succession starring Jeremy Strong? Very f—ing clerk, as his ambitious, troubled, blunt character Kendall Roy might put it.
Sunday evening Succession series finale, Sarah Snook’s Shiv Roy made a special smoothie – a ‘fit for a king’ – for her brother Kendall to drink at their mother’s house in Barbados after she agreed to support her quest to become CEO of Waystar Royco. Ingredients? Milk, Tabasco hot sauce, bread crusts, Branston Pickle, raw eggs, cocoa powder and, finally, Shiv’s spit.
“You’re going to be a great CEO,” Snook’s character told Kendall. “I really think that — if that doesn’t kill you, which it certainly will. Encouraged by Shiv and Kieran Culkin’s novel, Kendall then took a healthy sip of the rancid drink, the rest of which was dumped on Kendall’s head by her brother.

Did Strong request that Snook’s on-screen smoothie be replaced with something less disgusting? Apparently not.
Speaking on the official Succession podcast, the actor revealed that the concoction he was consuming contained “all those things” that viewers had seen Shiv put in the blender.
“We only did it a few times, then I got out and threw up, jumped in the ocean and washed it off my hair. Yeah, I drank it, yeah.”
After podcast host Kara Swisher responded to the news by saying he really is a method actor, Strong continued, “I wouldn’t know how not to drink it. He wants it so badly, he going to drink anything. But this was disgusting.”
