Jennifer Lopez teases a new song to celebrate her first wedding anniversary with Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez reminisces about her Las Vegas wedding to Ben Affleck in a new song.

THE Marry me The 53-year-old actress shared a short snippet from an upcoming track titled “Midnight Trip to Vegas” to her “On the JLo” newsletter on Monday, a day after the couple’s one-year wedding anniversary in Sin City.

In an accompanying video, Lopez can be seen smiling as she sings the song’s upbeat lyrics, which appear to reference their surprise nuptials: “What about a midnight trip to Vegas?/ Just me and you baby / Throw the kids in the back / Pink Cadillac / And us in the bathroom changing.”

Lopez also revealed the song’s full lyrics, which begin with the couple wondering if their lavish wedding plans are really “what we’re dreaming of” amid worries about “orchid arrangements” and rain. The lyrics continue, “So you whispered in my ear / Said let’s get out of here / We can disappear tonight.”

In the end, getting married in a small ceremony in Vegas was all the couple really needed. “I haven’t told a soul how it’s going tonight / Top down singing Freddie Mercury / Waiting in line at the DMV,” read the lyrics. “‘I just got married’ on the window / So glad we could keep it simple / Then I whispered in your ear / I’m so glad we’re here.”

The couple did, however, end up having the “event of the ages” with the “families and agents” mentioned in the piece when they held a second wedding ceremony a month later in August 2022. Among those in attendance were Lopez and Affleck’s children from their previous marriages, as well as Affleck’s longtime friends and collaborators Matt Damon, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and many more.

Lopez and Affleck’s romance – which began in 2001 on the set of the romantic comedy Gigli – was the inspiration for Lopez’s next album It’s me now. The album serves as a companion piece to his 2002 album It’s me… sowhich centered on his then-relationship with Affleck.

“I haven’t really made an album like this in 20 years, that’s the truth. The last time I did, It’s me… sothat’s the last time I remember doing an album like this, where I was in the studio every day writing every song, doing every thing,” she explained on Living with Kelly and Mark back in May. “I was very inspired at the time when I wrote It’s me… so. Anyone who knows this album [knows] it was really about me falling in love at that time with the love of my life, and now, 20 years later, who would have ever thought that we would have [gotten back together]?”
