Cruise signed autographs at the top of the steps as he arrived. He took the microphone and thanked the crowd of fans for coming, adding, “It’s amazing to be in this beautiful city of cinema.”

Speaking to an emcee, Cruise praised his co-stars and noted the yellow Fiat displayed at the bottom of the red carpet steps that plays a part in a grand Rome car chase in the film.

He also talked about his training preparing him for action films like this and his passion for filmmaking in general.

“My goal as a child, since I was little, was to make movies and travel the world. And not just be a tourist, but work in this world, live in it and understand their culture,” he said. said “You watch my movies, I was able to get that thanks to everyone here that you allowed me to entertain you.”

Dead Reckoning – Part One comes five years after the last installment, Mission: Impossible – Fallgrossed just under $792 million worldwide, the biggest of Assignment movies to date.

Anticipation is at its peak for Dead Reckoning – Part One with plenty of action (including this car chase that takes place here in Piazza di Spagna) and Cruise’s signature stunts. After last year’s massive Top Gun: Maverickhaving Cruise back as Hunt, a character he started playing 27 years ago, almost feels like a spiritual sequel to that $1.5 billion biggest.

But don’t get me wrong, it’s pure Assignment as Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: hunt down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future, the fate of the world hanging in the balance, and the dark forces of Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the world begins. Faced with a mysterious and all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing matters more than his mission, not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Pegg, who plays Benji Dunn, said on the red carpet that the danger in the Assignment the movies are real.

Dead Reckoning begins the global rollout on July 12.
