HBO’s “Succession”, “The Last of Us”, “White Lotus”; see the list

If the power-hungry Roys were real, they could do festive curses.

“Succession,” the HBO family drama that departed in May after four seasons, topped the nominations for the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards announced Wednesday. “Succession” received 27 nominations, including Best Drama, where the network’s “The Last of Us” followed closely with 24, followed by “The White Lotus” (23) and Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” ( 21).

This year’s Emmys are scheduled to air Sept. 18 on Fox, but could be delayed by the ongoing writers’ strike and a potential strike by actors. The host of the ceremony has not yet been announced.
