Fort Worth police find man fatally shot in home invasion call

A man was found dead with gunshot wounds Thursday in a far west Fort Worth home after police responded to a call about a home invasion, according to a police spokesperson.

A 911 caller reported that a resident shot an intruder.

On Thursday at about 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Basset Locke Drive, about a home invasion involving a shooting.

The Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar personnel also responded.

Police said they found a man who had suffered gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The homicide unit is investigating.
