Elk Grove: 14-year-old arrested in connection with burglary

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in Elk Grove in connection with a burglary, and police are searching for more vehicles that may have been targeted by the teen.

Officers with the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle burglary Saturday morning near Lyndale Circle and Springridge Way, according to a social media post by the department.

Police said the caller provided a description of the suspect to officers who found him in a nearby park. Officers said the teen had a window punch and pieces of glass on him.

Authorities said the 14-year-old was arrested and transported to Juvenile Hall and faces at least 12 counts of burglary, petty theft and possession of burglary tools.

It is possible the teen may face additional burglary charges pending an investigation, the department said.
