Citations dropped at a miners party at the Crestwood Council President’s house

July 21—WRIGHT TWP. – Wright Township Police issued citations Friday against 11 minors and an 18-year-old man for underage drinking after investigating a complaint at the residence of Crestwood School District Board Chairman John Macri earlier this month.

According to a news release, police received two complaints from a state police tip line about the July 7 residence party. The press release does not include Macri Street, which is Timberland Drive.

An officer made contact with minors suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. Several other minors were in the residence, which was not occupied by the owner.

A family member contacted the owner and asked him to come home to ensure the safety of those inside the house, the press release said.

Officers waited outside the home for the owners to arrive.

Once the owners arrived, officers identified the minors inside the residence and contacted their parents.

Macri could not be reached for comment late Friday afternoon.

The investigation is continuing by the Wright Township Police Department and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office.
