Chris Licht to resign from CNN: Reports

CNN’s embattled chief Chris Licht is leaving his post, according to severalnewsreports.

He will be replaced by Amy Entelis, a CNN executive, for the interim term, according to Puck’s Dylan Byers.

Licht has been under fire following a series of controversies, including arranging a town hall with former President Donald Trump, which were detailed in a damaging profile by The Atlantic Friday.

While Licht apologized to CNN staffers during the network’s 9 a.m. editorial call Monday for becoming a distraction and vowed to fight to regain their trust, it appears the writing was already on the wall for Licht.

CNN’s own reporter, Oliver Darcy, had reported that many within the organization shared the consensus that Licht had “lost the coin”.

Licht was asked by the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery’s David Zaslav last year to take over after Jeff Zucker resigned, citing an undisclosed relationship with CNN colleague Allison Gollust.
