Chris Christie Fact-Checks Trump’s New ‘Absurd’ Wicked Takedown Claim

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has slammed former President Donald Trump after he told a DC crowd he was ‘charged for’ them.

Christie, who is taking on Trump to become the 2024 GOP presidential nominee, took aim at the former president after he defined an impeachment of ‘radical left-wing Democrats’ as a ‘great badge of courage’ at a Coalition conference Faith and Freedom on the weekend.

“I am charged for you. And I believe the “you” represents over 200 million people who love our country. They are out there and they love our country,” Trump said before the crowd cheered.

Christie, who backed Trump’s campaign in 2016 and was a Trump ally before the Capitol riot, criticized the remarks during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”

“He had the audacity to say he was charged for us. Now I don’t know how it benefited the American people to pull out very sensitive intelligence and secret White House documents to prevent the government from sending them away for over a year and a half to submit to an FBI raid even though they voluntarily asked him to turn that stuff in,” Christie said.

“And, to then be impeached which is obviously going to be a big struggle for the country because no one wants to see that happen. Donald Trump says it’s for us? It’s absurd.”
