Biden announces new plan to address homelessness in America

Hi there OnPolitics readers! We bring you an exclusive today.

The Biden Administration is focusing on combating homelessness in five cities and the state of California through a new initiative described to USA TODAY.

The administration will send a federal official into each community for up to two years to help cut red tape and better access federal programs, according to a plan that was unveiled today, reporter Maureen Groppe writes.

Why this matters: This initiative, named “ALL INside,” is a key part of President Joe Biden’s goal to reduced homelessness by 25% by 2025.

Where it’s happening: The cities of Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Seattle, in addition to the state of California. These locations account for half of the nation’s unhoused population.
