Beyoncé mourns her ‘inspiration’ Tina Turner with photo from their Grammys performance

Queen Bey is remembering the life of her “beloved queen” Tina Turner.

Beyoncé wrote a touching message to the late rock n’ roll star who died Wednesday at 83 in her home in Switzerland after a long illness, calling Turner “the epitome of power and passion” on her official website.

“I love you endlessly. I am so grateful for your inspiration and all the ways you have paved the way. You are strength and resilience,” Beyoncé wrote. “We are all so fortunate to have witnessed your kindness and beautiful spirit that will forever remain.”

The “Break My Soul” singer has long admired the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” as she grew up listening to the singer before she became a star herself.

“When I think of inspiration, I think of the two Tinas in my life: That’s my mother, Tina and of course, the amazing Tina Turner. I’ll never forget the first time I saw you perform, I never in my life saw a woman so powerful, so fearless, so fabulous and those legs,” she said before singing the icon’s 1970 hit.

Turner praised Beyoncé’s performance with claps, a standing ovation and two thumbs up.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, wrote about Turner’s impact on her and her daughter in an Instagram post Wednesday, sharing photos of Beyoncé and Turner sharing the stage together for the Grammys in 2008.

“We were both so excited and when (Turner) arrived and we were told that she was in the other (room) we all witnessed Beyoncé, turning into a five-year-old actually skipping across the floor to embrace her,” Knowles-Lawson wrote. “They had so much laughter those days and it is one of Beyonce’s best memories. The world is a less better place without this legendary, gorgeous resilient woman.”

Turner and Beyoncé dressed in coordinating metallic outfits for their Grammy performance and traded lines of “Proud Mary” in harmony while performing the iconic choreography peppered with hip shakes and hair tosses.
