Source tells PEOPLE that Amy Robach and TJ Holmes ‘are not too worried about their next steps’ nearly six months after leaving ABC News
TJ Holmes and Amy Robach have settled into a low-key phase of their relationship seven months after the public learned of their off-screen connection.
A source close to Robach tells PEOPLE that the former GMA3: what you need to know the co-presenters are “still together, happy and trying to keep a low profile” amid the fallout from their romance, which included their eventual decision in January to part ways with ABC News.
“It seems like for a while they didn’t care,” the couple’s PDA source notes, both at home and abroad over the past two months, “but now they’re making an effort concerted”.
“They’re still being paid by ABC, so they’re not too worried about their next steps yet, although they’ve been tossing around a few ideas for next projects and having a few meetings,” the insider shares. “Amy is so talented, and this whole year and the way it’s all turned out has been a shock to her.”

In January, an ABC spokesperson confirmed their exit from the network in a statement, sharing, “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes about various options, we all agreed it was best for everyone. that they are leaving ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are grateful for their contributions.”
Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan have since been announced as their CMG3 substitutes.

After they parted ways, a source told PEOPLE the couple “have been fine since everything happened.”
“They’re actually in love and still in touch with the people working on the show,” the source said at the time. “They’re not worried about not working anymore, but they know the dust has to settle a bit more before they find another job. There’s still too much going on.”
The couple first sparked dating rumors in November 2022 after photos of them holding hands in a car while vacationing in upstate New York and settling into a bar in New York.
Hours after the photos were posted, Holmes and Robach shut down their respective Instagram accounts. (Robach has since reactivated his account while Holmes’ account remains inactive.)

Neither has publicly commented on their romance amid the backlash following an investigation into their relationship by their former employer, but, in February, the pair vacationed in Mexico and competed in the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on next month.
Earlier this month, they were spotted preparing for a race in Manhattan.
