2-year-old girl shoots herself in the hand at Rogers Park

A 2-year-old girl is in good condition after finding a gun and accidentally shooting herself in the hand in Rogers Park on Sunday night, Chicago police said.

The shooting occurred in the 1500 block of West Jonquil Terrace around 6:15 p.m., police said. The girl shot herself in the right hand after finding the handgun.

She was taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition.

No one was immediately taken into custody, police said. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were released on Sunday evening.
