2 Dayton minors arrested after cross-state pursuit

Two Dayton miners were arrested early Saturday morning after a pursuit involving authorities in Indiana and Ohio.

Around 4:15 a.m., Darke County deputies were dispatched to help aid Indiana law enforcement in a pursuit, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle had been involved in a break and enter at a gun store in Winchester, Indiana, the sheriff’s office said.

Once the vehicle entered Darke County, Indiana authorities along with Union City, Ohio PD, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Darke County Deputies joined in the pursuit.

The chase lasted about 40 minutes through several areas of Darke County and the town of Greenville, the sheriff’s office said.

Once the chase reached the city, Greenville police also participated in the chase until it ended in the village of Pitsburg.

Two suspects in the vehicle fled on foot and were taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Both suspects have been identified as Dayton miners.

The two minors were arrested and transported to the Center West Juvenile Detention Center.

The incident is still under investigation.
