2 children shot, 1 fatally, in Fort Worth homicide, police say

One minor is dead and one is in the hospital after they were both shot in west Fort Worth on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Broadmoor Drive after the two juveniles were approached by three unidentified people, according to police.

The two victims were together when the three suspects approached them and at least one pulled a handgun and shot them.

Officers arrived to find the two victims in a breezeway, with one of them already dead at the scene, according to police. The other minor was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police have not released the name or ages of the children who were shot.

Police said the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. The motive for the homicide is under investigation.
