19-year-old killed in Westwood shooting

A homicide investigation is ongoing after a 19-year-old was shot dead in Westwood on Sunday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched around 4:50 p.m. to the 2700 block of Erlene Drive for a shooting report, police said.

Upon arrival, the Cincinnati Fire Department found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound and transported him to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to Sgt. Frank Beavers with the Cincinnati Homicide Unit.

sergeant. Beavers says around the same time, a 19-year-old victim with a gunshot wound showed up at UC Medical Center in a private vehicle.

The 19-year-old victim was later pronounced dead, Beavers said.

Cincinnati police are investigating the fatal shooting.
