A teen girl was shot and killed in west Phoenix on Sunday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
At 8 a.m., officers responded to the area of 109th Avenue and Taft Street regarding a person who was shot. When officers arrived at the area of the incident, they found a teenage girl with a gunshot wound, who later died from her injuries, police said.
Police said that detectives are attempting to find what led up to the shooting as part of their ongoing investigation of the incident.
