SI’s Dan Wetzel and Ross Dellenger react to Nick Saban wanting to use sports betting odds as leverage to make the college football playoffs, and later breaking news from Stephen F. Austin’s bowling team.

Ross joins the program of his cruise to explain why the state of San Diego is so much more sought after than the state of Boise. The guys are trying to figure out what factors outside of winning football games might be contributing to Boise State generating so little buzz during realignment season.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban spoke with Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt this week and mentioned he thinks Alabama was snubbed from the college football playoffs last year due to of his preference against three of the four members who did. The plot thickens as Dan and Ross ponder whether Nick Saban could plant any media seeds for the upcoming season in a stacked SEC.

Billy Napier and the Florida Gators are starting to build momentum this summer with a big recruiting weekend. The Gators were able to sign nine new top-200 ranked players to help repair their roster. Arizona State also added talent by securing a big quarterback commitment from Michael “Butter” Tollefson.

Finally, in weird news, an assistant coach for the bowling team’s Stephen F. Austin quit after his relationship with an athlete on the bowling team was discovered. He then decided to share his side of the story with the media, much to Ross and Dan’s delight.
